2023 SENIOR KING & QUEEN

Terry and Sharon NighTerry & Sharon Nigh

Terry & Sharon met while attending Bowling Green State University in 1970. In 1972 they married in nearby Fremont, Ohio. They settled in Pemberville and have lived on Joyce Avenue, in three different homes for a span of 51 years! Sharon began her teaching career at Bradner, Lakota and taught there from 1972-1978. She then became a "stay at home mom" until their children, Brad and Erin started school. She then returned to the classroom and retired from teaching first grade at Woodmore in 2009. Sharon is seen in many roles in the Village of Pemberville. She began serving on the Pemberville Public Library Board of Trustees in 2010 and continues still today. Her other associations include, Friends of the Library, Pemberville Petal Pushers, American Legion Auxiliary, Pemberville Historical Society and the Quilting Eagles. Sharon makes cards for each Quilt of Valor recipient. Her time has also been given to the fair with assistance to the Kiddie Parade, pie baking and the Quilt Show. Bethlehem Lutheran Church also benefits from Sharon's efforts in many ways. For all of their members 90+ years old she makes yearly greeting cards. Sharon enjoys yoga, walking, reading, sewing and gardening. Terry is also a retired educator. He taught business at both Eastwood and Lake high Schools. In addition to teaching he devoted endless hours to coaching. Terry has coached basketball, cross country, Pemberville Little League. He can be credited with starting the girls' leagues and the Sixers' Teams. He has served Bethlehem Lutheran Church as a council member, Deacon, and on the Finance Committee. The Tree  Commission also receives his attention. Our fair has benefited from his volunteer hours at various events, including the Car Show of which he serves on the committee. Terry and Sharon agree that their heart is in the village where they have raised their family. The family has grown and they spend as much time as possible attending the events of their four grandchildren. Congratulations to them both on being awarded this honor!
