Marty Braucksiek

Marty has been chosen as the Outstanding Citizen of the 75th Pemberville Free Fair. She is the proud wife of Paul Braucksiek with whom she celebrates 47 years of marriage. They have been blessed with two daughters, Renee Heath residing in Cincinnati and Erika Althaus in nearby Wayne. The lineup of grandchildren includes, Nate, Dylan, Alina, Evelyn, Emersyn, and Lydia. Their seventh grandchild is expected in September of 2019. Marty’s history in our community is rich. She is a lifelong resident of Wood County and graduate of Eastwood High School. Her memberships include Pemberville United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post #183, Wood County Farm Bureau, and the popular “Hot Flashes”. Prior to establishing daycare in her home in 1977, which she still does today, Marty was employed by L & K Restaurants where she met her husband Paul. She also assisted the Myles family in Bowling Green with the opening of the iconic Dairy Queen. In her busy life she also sets aside time to work with Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Homes, assisting in their care of our community. Marty works tirelessly in the ministries of her own church as well as the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission. Presently she is the Chair Person of the Pemberville Food Pantry/Good Samaritan Fund. When she is not winning blue ribbons for her “crystal pickles”, she enjoys traveling to Amish Country. This ranks high on Marty’s list of favorite things to do, although it is certainly second to following the lives of her grandchildren. Marty’s efforts and commitments are above, Beyond, and appreciated. Congratulations Marty on being chosen 2019 Outstanding Citizen!
